I have been a merchandiser for eight years. Is this for merchandisers or for businesses?
Having a merchandising job is a great way to earn an excellent income and still have a life. Usually the hours are very flexible and the pay typically is above average.
Some companies even offer perks such as paying for drive time or mileage. Others may offer discounts on products.
One thing to be aware of is that not all companies will hire you as an employee. Many times you are an independant contractor. To me that is a good thing, but not everyone agrees with that.
It can be difficult to find a full-time merchandising job (but they are out there), however it is possible to work for more than one company. If you are organized and a self-starter, merchandising is a great career.
